Cosega Search A Booker Thriller The Cosega Sequence Book 1 edition by Brandt Legg Literature Fiction eBooks
Cosega Search felt very much like an introduction to the series rather than a book. I picked it up because it was free in the Kindle store at the time of purchase, but I would have paid the current price of 99 cents if I had known it was going to be this good. I was quickly engrossed in the mystery and like the main character Rig, was itching to know more about his archaeological find. The author wastes no time getting to the action, quickly diving into the chase of the book, which is the basis for book 1 of the Cosega Sequence.I found the rapid character switching to be a bit confusing, most authors dedicate entire chapters to separate characters but Legg switches more regularly on a paragraph basis. Additionally, while I enjoyed the book and would like to read the second, there are many other free books on my list that I'm more interested in first.

Cosega Search A Booker Thriller The Cosega Sequence Book 1 edition by Brandt Legg Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Great summer reading. It seems I've been on an archeological suspense kick lately and a previous reviewer is correct in his comparison to Dan Brown. Much less set up though and plenty more action. I would say if Baldacci and Brown collaborated on an Indiana Jones mystery, this might be the finished result.
Cosega Search by Brandt Legg is an exciting, fast-paced story about an archaeologist who discovers an incredible treasure from millions of years ago -- a discovery that could change the entire fate of the world. Shortly after the discovery, Rip Gaines is off on a race to hide and protect his secret. Investigative journalist Gale Asher is on site during the discovery and joins Rip on his journey. The two of them are bonded together by their trust in a mutual friend and their desire to find out the truth about the "Eysen."
Their journey takes them from a dig on a hillside in Virginia to the ruins of a church in a forest and on to Taos, New Mexico. Along the way, Gale and Rip and their various friends and accomplices try to avoid being killed or captured by the FBI or, worse, the baddies from the Vatican. Cosega Search is well-written and filled with memorable characters including the laid-back dude who accidentally becomes involved in the action and the mysterious old man in the woods.
The book ends leaving the reader completely enthralled and wanting more. Luckily Books 2 & 3 in the series are available. Fans of Da Vinci Code will love this story which would also make an excellent film.
I would have rated this book higher, except I was totally disappointed in how it ended, leaving me up in the air, with no sense of completion - even for an episodic series. Story and character development were quite good; however the premature ending totally ruined the reading experience.
Cosega Search (The Cosega Sequence Book 1) by Author Brandt Legg
Cosega Search is not the first novel that I have read and reviewed by this talented author and I can assure you it won't be my last. Author Brandt Legg does it again! He captured my attention from the first page to the last.
Ripley Gaines is a brilliant and renowned archaeologist seeking a rare artifact to prove the Cosega theory. When he finally discovers his much sought after find, he has no idea the forces that will work against him to stop him from decoding its secret message. Now on the run from the FBI, NSA, the Vatican and several others who want to get their hands on the Eysen as he has named it, he is a fugitive. Gale Asher, a journalist who escaped with him, is as intrigued and dedicated as he is in deciphering the message that could change the future of the world. The secrets of the past will alter present day beliefs and many people, for a variety of reasons, do not want the truth to get out.
I plan on reading Cosega Storm (The Cosega Sequence) (Volume 2) in this series as soon as possible. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Wow! I didn't know what kind of story I was getting myself into, but it didn't matter, because Mr. Legg grabbed me by the throat and kept the pace going full throttle until the end! When the story starts, it feels like INDIANA JONES or the NATIONAL TREASURE movie, involving archaeology, conspiracy, religion, suspense, action and more. But as the story starts to unfold and you learn more about Rip Gaines' "Cosega Theory," you realize there's a lot more going on. I'm a fan of the TV show "Ancient Aliens" because I like exploring alternative theories about mankind's history and origins, and what's cool is that Mr. Legg presents a unique take on the "our history is not what it seems" trope and turns it into a compelling thriller infused with an intriguing scifi mystery. As soon as the tale started, I wished I could have Googled Rip Gaines' "Cosega Theory" to find out all its details. But alas, it's fiction, so I had to keep flipping pages at a furious rate to learn as much as I could about the unique hypothesis. But I'm left wanting more! I could watch a dozen movies on this theory. I would definitely have read even a nonfiction book about this topic, because it's so damn intriguing. But Mr. Legg has given us the best of both worlds A super-compelling mystery built around this crazy theory, combined with an edge-of-your-seat suspense-thriller. I'm hooked. Book 2 Here I come!!
What a THRILL ride!
This book (Cosega Search) kept me up reading way too late. I've read this author before so I was excited to see this series come out. If you like Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code or AG Riddle's Atlantis Gene or even Wilbur Smith's books, you'll love this techno-thriller. Rip Gaines, an archeologist makes a big find in Virginia and everyone wants it. The whole book is what happens while he is running for his life and trying to understand what he has. It does end with a cliff hanger but the second book is already out so I was able to get it right away and continue the story, and it's a real page-turner, so I was glad to be able to keep going.
